For thicker pieces, we usually recommend letting it dry for about a day before you use it again. We use controlled moisture specifically so furniture is not out of service for long.
Those are body oils, and they generally respond well to pretreatment and a hand tool. Heavily worn areas may lighten rather than disappear completely.
